We too do not understand this need for all the flood lights.  We have a few solar lights so you can see the walk and a motion sensor at the end of the garage to deter folks from coming around at night, but that is it.

We drive up our road at night and we see all the newer homes have a minimum of 2 lights lighting up their entire house outside.  Don't under stand it.....</description>
